Objectives:

The aim of the laboratory is to deepen the methodological and operational tools of digital representation, both in 2D and 3D domains, in particular studying the BIM parametrical modeling, working on widespread authoring platforms, referring to their interoperable and data management features.

Contents:

The theoretical topics will focus on the following themes:

[0.6 CFU] 3D modeling techniques (NURBS, polygonal, surface-based and volume-based modeling);

[0.6 CFU] BIM modeling, new opportunities for the AEC, foundations and vocabulary;

[0.6 CFU] The BIM methodology in the evolution of the Italian regulatory scenario and in the supranational reference framework: the new Procurement Code (Legislative Decree 36/2023 and subsequent amendments); the UNI 11337 regulation; the ISO 19650 standard.

[0.6 CFU] BIM and ACDat: definitions and characteristics of the Data Sharing Environment;

[0.6 CFU] BIM and interoperability, the non-proprietary open format IFC;

Teaching materials:

Students will have access to handouts for the theoretical topics and open source/educational software.

For further information, under the guidance of the teacher, reference is made to the regulatory texts of the national and international regulatory framework, as well as to the scientific literature in the cultural domain.
